February News 2018

Jace’s 6th birthday skating party!.
Hello Kerry,
Well the weather this past month has been filled with some very warm days and some really cold days which make the warm ones hard to remember. The kick off Winter Fest is today and we are already seeing a few snow sculptures (see pics below) take form around town. The snowmobile Fun Run was this past weekend and it was a warm one. Temps the day before exceeded 40 degrees which made trail and lake riding a little rough but everyone seemed to be having a good time.
Tiffany and Jace both had birthdays this past month. Jace is now 6 and is really getting into hockey and his skating has dramatically improved. It was fun to go watch his first hockey tournament a few weeks ago. Mason is having a great basketball season. He is well over 100 pts so far and looks like he will exceed his goal of 200 pts for the season. Bella is busy with dancing and singing. She was honored to sing the national anthem for the second consecutive time at the annual Heavy Metal All-Stars vs. Duluth Warriors Hockey game.
The Schaumburg show went very well. We were able to connect with some of you and catch up on what has been going on over the last few months. To be honest it’s one of the things we look forward to most this time of year. We will be heading back down to Tinley Park, IL for our next sport show on 2/10. If your in the area stop on by we would love to catch up with you.

Fishing Reports

Trout action remains decent throughout the area as good numbers are turning up on local area lakes. Have heard of a few people still spearing northern pike in the area as a result of limited ice thickness which has prolonged the season.
Walleye anglers are still struggling to find limits of keepers. Many small fish in the six to ten inch range are common, but weeding through them enables you to come home with at least a couple for dinner.
