Ice Report 5/2/14

The ice continues to pull away from shore in many places and the color seems to get grayer each day.  As you can see from the picture the ice to the South of Silver Rapids Bridge has receded another 50 yards or so. In talking to Minnesota Power who control the water flow at Birch lake and Garden lake the lake are rising but should stabilize and start to recede if we do not get significant rain. It is looking better that we will have ice out for opener based on the 7 day forecast.
