Hello Kerry,

We wish you the joy of family, the gift of friends, and the best of everything in 2020.

Because of you, our friends, new guests, and family, we have had another awesome year at White Iron Beach Resort! Also, we are proud to say that 2019 was our 25th year of being owners of WIBR which tied us for the longest ownership of WIBR. Maybe another 25 years are in order. We will have to talk to our kids about that!?!?

Family update…

We are so blessed that everyone here in the Davis household is healthy and happy!

Chad and Tiffany had a very busy summer running the Blue Heron Bed and Breakfast. This is their second year of ownership. Chad has also been running the Deer Ridge Resort which we took over operation back in May. Tiffany is back to teaching 2nd grade at Washington Elementary and running Mason and Bella to all of their activities. Mason is 15, has his driving permit now (watch out!), his varsity football season ended with a honorable mention to All-Conference and has just started his JV and Varsity basketball season. Bella is 12 and had a great volleyball season this year and dancing started back up a couple months ago which she loves.

John is in high demand with his construction business and is very busy working on multiple projects including an almost new construction home that originally started out as an airplane hanger many years ago. Rachel continues to work at the credit union along with running Jace around for his activities. Jace is 7, soon to be 8, and just starting his third season playing hockey. The progress he has made is pretty awesome and is becoming really fun to watch.

Taylor continues to work at the resort. What would we and everyone else do if we didn’t see his wonderful smile and singing while he is working everyday?!?! Taylor also finds time to work at Mike’s Liquors and occasionally subs at the school cafeteria.

We (Kerry and Sandy) are so blessed to have our family close to us. As for us, we will be doing a few sport shows, renovations will soon start but before that we will be taking a month to spend in Florida. Most of all enjoying watching our grand kids in all their activities.

We still have some great vacation opportunities available. Ice Conditions – Ice conditions continue to improve slowly this last week, but slush is starting to become a issue as snow piles up on area lakes. 10-14 inches of good ice is being reported on many area lakes. Anglers have begone to plow roads on area lakes.

Panfish – Panfish bite has been very consistent this last week. Anglers have been catching nice limits of crappies and sunfish. Sunfish are being caught in 10 feet of water or less on small jigs tipped with wax worms, while crappies are being caught in 15-20 feet of water on crappie minnows or jigging raps.

Walleye – Walleye fishing slowed this last week. Anglers reported marking fewer fish during the evening hours, but still managed to get a fish or two to bring home. Jigging raps or rippin raps have been effective at calling in walleyes, but it’s the dead stick that it catching the fish the majority of the time. Key depths remain 18-23 feet of water.

Pike – Pike anglers have been having good success this last week with the majority of anglers reporting good numbers , but small average size. Large suckers fished under a tip up continue to be very popular way to catch fish. Shallow bays with a water coming into the lake continue to be the best areas to fish with tip ups.
